Oral History Project


The BOS Museum is planning to conduct a series of oral history interviews with members of the orthodontic profession. The interviews will be conducted by trained interviewers and will be made available on this website.

The areas to be covered by the interviews include:

  • Impact of the NHS on orthodontic provision
  • Rise of specialist practice
  • Development of private orthodontic provision
  • Development of specialist training
  • Evolution of specialist qualifications
  • Development of interdisciplinary treatment and the rise of MDTs
  • Development of orthodontic societies
