After graduation, Steve had his House Officer training at the Liverpool Dental Hospital. He then moved to Withington and Chester to complete his Senior House Officer training.In 1991 he became a Registrar in Orthodontics in the Department of Child Dental Health at the Newcastle Dental Hospital.
Subsequently he spent his Senior Registrar years at Blackburn Royal Infirmary, Burnley General Hospital and Manchester University Dental Hospital completing his training in 1997.
In 1997 became a Consultant Orthodontist at the hospitals where he spent his Senior Registrar years moving to Countess of Chester in 1999. Steve continued his consultant post at the Manchester University Dental Hospital.

Qualified from Sheffield in 1989 and have worked as a GDP in Derbyshire for the last twenty three years. I have served on the local dental committee and more recently as secretary of the local orthodontic MCN ,the practioner group of the BOS and the Grants and Scholarships committee of the BOS. I am married to Alicen and have four lively, energetic and exhausting children .

Catherine graduated from Dental School at Queen’s University Belfast in 1988. She commenced her specialist training in Orthodontics at Leeds Dental Institute in 1993. After this she teamed up with her partner, now husband, Joe, to build and develop St. Michael’s Dental Practice and St. Michael’s Orthodontics Ltd. which opened in 1998. She gained her specialist qualification in 1996 and is currently registered (reg.nr. 63428) on the specialist list for Orthodontists at the General Dental Council |

This committee supervises and administers all the scholarships, prizes, academic awards and research grants offered by the society. It is also responsible for raising funds to support the grants and awards. My role is to represent the views and ideas of the TGG to the S&G committee. I am also involved in helping to make any changes needed to the rules and regulations of existing prizes.

Chris is currently a part-time Consultant at Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield and also works part-time in specialist orthodontic practice. Chris's main area of clinical interest is in treating severe orthodontic problems including patients with hypodontia, impacted teeth and those requiring orthognathic surgery. He is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Training Programme Director for Dental Core trainees at Pinderfields Hospital. Chris is currently representing COG on the Directorate of Clinical Practice committee. |

Dr Nicky Mandall

Nicky Mandall is consultant orthodontist and clinical lead of the orthodontic department at Tameside Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Her research interests include making a contribution to orthodontic clinical research through randomized controlled trials. She has been invited to speak about her scientific research at national and European conferences.
Nicky is external examiner for the Manchester Orthodontics therapist programme and is also an MOrth examiner. She was the MSc supervisor for the winner of the Houston research award in 2010, was awarded best scientific paper in the Journal of Orthodontics in 2011 and 2012 and was presented with the FEO award for the best scientific paper in Europe in 2011 and 2012.
