The Society’s activities in all matters relating to the orthodontic education of dentists and dental care professionals. This includes undergraduate training, vocational training, the postgraduate education of generalists, the postgraduate training of specialists in orthodontics and the training of DCPs

The Society is principally active in those educational initiatives which are outside the remit of the Postgraduate Deaneries, Specialist Advisory Committee (SAC), Royal Colleges and matters related to national policy setting. The Chair will however be responsible for ensuring that the Society is fully conversant with the educational work of such bodies as it affects orthodontic education

Specific responsibilities will include the Society’s role in the overall planning and success of the training of Orthodontic Therapists, Dentists with a Special Interest in Orthodontics, the provision of high quality Continuing Professional Development (CPD), the BOS Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and the educational benefits from the work of the Museum and Archive Committee
